Last Call With Carson Daly,
T-Pain

Say what you want about T-Pain, but he knows how to laugh at himself. The King of Auto-Tune appeared on Tuesday’s "Last Call with Carson Daly" to address the widespread use of the vocal-enhancing effect (“I wanted to do it by myself”), who Jay-Z was dissing on “D.O.A.,” retiring his hats, losing weight, and being parodied by “Weird Al” Yankovic (“It’s an honor”).

With $469 million at the worldwide box office, Robert Downey, Jr. pulling out of Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens and Guy Ritchie deciding not to direct Lobo, we began to wonder whether a sequel to Sherlock Holmes may go into production at some point this year. While on the rounds promoting Repo Men Jude Law spoke about Sherlock Holmes 2, and hinted that he may be keeping his scedule free for a late summer start.
From CinemaBlend:
“We started throwing out ideas of where it could go and what should happen next. Mine of course involved Sherlock Holmes being locked in a box and Dr. Watson…” He then pumped up his arms into a heroic stance and got a big laugh from the assembled press.
The closest he came to admitting there was a sequel was saying, “I don’t know for sure, but I think we are probably doing another one. I think it’s sometime this year.” When discussing other projects, he said he was considering doing a play in London either this summer or early next year, and also mentioned shooting for 10 days on Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion at the end of this year.
I’d imagine Warner Bros. will be aiming for another December release for the sequel, so if they want to have the film complete by December 2011 they’ll need to begin filming around August/September/October time, considering Sherlock Holmes began filming in October 2008 for a December 2009 release.
If Holmes made nearly $470 million while competeing with the highest grossing film of all time then it’s clear there are quite a few people out there wanting more of Downey and his accent. Is there anything you’d like to see in Sherlock Holmes 2?

Beyonce may not know it, but her song “ Put a ring on it ” is now the tagline for a new public awareness campaign for female condoms.
Not the ones that flopped in the early 90s, but.a new and improved ringed version recently approved by the Food & Drug Administration. “It’s softer, it’s more affordable it’s something women feel more comfortable using," an official said.
The hope is that once women hear about the improved device they'll give it a second chance -- or maybe even a first. It could be a tough sell.
So to help convince women to try it, members of the Chicago Female Condom Campaign will be teaching health professionals how to use the device so they can educate their at-risk patients. The instruction includes an anatomically correct model of the female pelvic area.
Visit ringonit.org for a female condom demonstration.
HIV infection rates are soaring in Illinois, especially among African American women. They comprise just 13 percent of the state's population, but account for 54 percent of its total HIV infections.

Rihanna traveled to Arizona to meet boyfriend Matt Kemp's family this weekend, but this was no ordinary trip. The singer flew in all the way from Berlin on Saturday just so she could attend Kemp's charity bash, Ante Up for Autism. The L.A. Dodgers outfielder is very close to the cause as his brother is autistic.
She had performed at the Echo Awards in Berlin on Thursday but then hopped on a plane shortly after. "Matt was happy she came," says an inside source on Rihanna making it to the event. "It was an awesome show of support."
Besides the other pro baseballers in the house Saturday evening, Kemp's family also attended, and they met Rihanna for the first time. "Rihanna fit right in as if they all knew each other. It was comfortable."
The fundraising gala kicked off with Vegas-style gaming and cocktails, a live and a silent auction, followed by dinner and dancing. The second-annual event raised $170,000 with only 150 people in attendance.
Rihanna's next scheduled performance is in L.A. at the Kid's Choice Awards on March 27.
